How We Work & Pricing
Data recovery is custom work. That's why we diagnose first, then give an exact price.
There is no fixed price for data recovery. Two devices of the same model can be completely different jobs. In one, a single component has failed; in another, the logic board is badly damaged or someone has already worked on it. We have been working at chip level in The Hague since 2008. Below we explain how we work and how our price is determined.
How we work
1. Contact
Call or WhatsApp us. We listen to your situation and tell you straight away whether there is a chance of success, and honestly when there isn't.
2. Intake and diagnosis
You bring the device to President Kennedylaan 19 in The Hague. We find out where the problem is.
3. Quote
You receive an exact price. We only start after you agree.
4. Recovery
We repair the device or extract the data directly from the board, using microsoldering and forensic extraction methods.
5. Your data back
You receive your data on a USB stick or on your own external drive.
What the price depends on
Device never opened, simple fault
For example a shorted component or a faulty connector. The fastest and most affordable situation.
Chip-level damage
For example a failed power IC, damage after water exposure or a fall, or a chip that needs to be re-soldered. More work, more specialist knowledge.
Badly damaged board: transplant
The processor and memory are moved to a donor board. Specialist work that only a few labs carry out.
Device already opened or worked on elsewhere
We regularly receive devices that have already been to one or more other companies. Sometimes parts are missing, chips have been removed or the memory is damaged. Recovery is often still possible, but the work is much harder and the price is therefore higher. The more attempts have been made, the harder recovery becomes.
Been somewhere else already?
If your device has already been opened elsewhere, we prefer that you bring it in person. We open the device together with you and record what we find: which parts are there, what is damaged and what is missing. That way you know exactly what happened to your device before it reached us.
Do you live abroad or far away? Then you can also send the device to us. In that case we follow a fixed procedure: the opening and inspection of the device are fully recorded on video. This lets us show the condition the device arrived in and what happened during previous attempts. Always contact us before sending your device.
We discuss the terms and the price with you at intake.
Sending your device
If your device has never been opened, you can also send it to us. If you live abroad or far away and the device has already been opened elsewhere, see above. In all cases, please contact us first.
Don't try anything yourself first
Every attempt can permanently damage your data: restarting, charging, updating, restoring via a computer, or letting someone "have a go" at the device. Turn the device off and contact us. The less has been done to the device, the better the chance of full recovery and the lower the cost.
