XGIMI Horizon (XK03K) projector ripped-off connector repair
This week we received an XGIMI Horizon projector (model XK03K) that was completely dead. The owner had opened it to clean out the dust, which is a sensible idea since dust hurts cooling and image quality. But while disconnecting a flex cable, the connector was pulled clean off the mainboard. The solder pads and part of the PCB traces were torn away with it.
A fine-pitch connector with dozens of tiny contacts is easy to damage like this, and at that point most people think the projector is beyond saving. A replacement mainboard is hard to find and expensive.
Nodefix doesn’t do simple parts swaps. We repair at board level. Under the microscope, we carefully rebuilt every damaged pad and trace on the mainboard (310-00801-002), using fine jumper wires where needed. Then we soldered the connector back in place and checked every connection.
The result is that the projector works perfectly again, with no new mainboard needed.
We see this more often. Projectors collect a lot of dust, owners want to clean them themselves, and the internal flex cables and connectors are very fragile. Has the same happened to your XGIMI or another projector? Don’t throw it away. Contact Nodefix and we’ll see what can be saved.
