An iPhone 17 Pro Max came in for data recovery. The device was completely dead. It didn't react to the charger or to a cable connection with a computer.

When we inspected the logic board, we found the cause: the charging IC (NXP CBTL1701B0) had burned out completely.

This was a difficult repair. Taking a burned chip off the board is often hard because of the burn damage, and the risk of causing more damage to the board is high.

We removed the IC and soldered in a new one. After that the board worked again, and we recovered all of the data.

Is your iPhone completely dead, and do you want your photos, videos or other data back? Nodefix in The Hague specializes in iPhone board-level repair, microsoldering and data recovery.
